Gesso workshop / Gesso class

Vorige week heb ik de tweede workshop gegeven in een reeks van 3.
We hebben op de achtergrond schilderstape geplakt en de pagina daarna met Gesso bewerkt.
Op de plekken waar het tape zat reageren de inkten totaal anders.

Last week I taught the seccond  class of three. This one was about Gesso. First we taped maskingtape to the paper and then Gessoed the whole paper. The spots where the tape had been reacted totally different to the inks we used.

Op deze pagina hebben we Distress Stains gebruikt. Ook hebben we de Gesso gebruikt met stencils. En we hebben een transfer gemaakt met Gesso van het meisje.

On this page we used Distress Stains. And we used templates with the Gesso. We also made a transfer of the girl with Gesso.

Ondertussen, terwijl de ene pagina aanhet drogen was, hebben we de andere pagina met Dylusions bewerkt.
Whilest the page dried, we sprayed the other page with Dylusions.

Daarna stempelden we de randen, bloemen enz. In het hoekje rechtsonder deden we een leuk trucje met bubbelend Gesso....Leuk!! Daarna gebruikten we de Gesso om circkles enz. te stempelen.
Het was heel leuk om deze workshop te geven! Iedereen ging met twee mooie pagina's naar huis!

Then we stamped borders and flowers and so on. In the bottem corner we did a neat little trick with bubbling Gesso...Fun!! After that, we used Gesso to stamp circkles and so on. 
It was fun teaching this class, and everyone made great Art Journal pages!

Nog een aantal Stamping Angel projecten/ Some more SA projects

De laatste weken ben ik zo druk geweest met de Stamping Angel projecten, dat ik er nog een aantal met jullie wil delen.
Dit is mijn 20e project waar ik aan werkte....Thema: collage

I've been so busy with loads of Stamping Angel projects lately, that I have some more to show you.
This was the 20th project I got to work in. The theme was "collage"

Dit was een quilt project. Ik heb de losse stukjes met garen aan elkaar zitten naaien. Wat een klus! Ik geloof dat ik toch liever gewoon stempel...
This was a Quilting project. I sewed al the loose pieces together....pfff...I think I'd rather just stamp than quilt....

Thema: een "sew"-kaartje (in een leuk driehoekig boekje):

Het is een hele uitdaging soms om wat te verzinnen, maar dat maakt het juist zo leuk!
Ik heb nog 4 projecten af, maar die laat ik de volgende keer wel zien.
Eerst even wat mooie foto's nemen van de Gesso workshop die ik laatst gaf. Ik hoop ze volgende week hier te laten zien.

It realy is a challange to think of what to stamp in a project, but that's what makes it so much fun!!
I have 4 more finished projects, I'll show you these next time.
First I have to take some pictures of the Gesso class I taught a few days ago. I hope I can show you the results the next week.

Ondertussen ben ik eindelijk ook zelf wer wat aan het Artjournalen...dus ik heb weer een hoop aan jullie te laten zien.

een aantal Stamping Angels projecten/ some Stamping Angels projects

Het is weer lekker druk geweest de laatste tijd. Ik ben er gewoon niet aan toegekomen om weer wat leuks op mijn blog te zetten.
Maar ik heb ondetussen wel weer aan een paar Stamping Angels projecten gewerkt.
Voor dit project moest ik een "happy dance" maken. De stempel is van Lost-coast designs:

I've been so busy with other things lately, that I haven't had the time to post something on my blog.
But I did make a few Stamping Angel projects, so here are some of them.
This one was called "Happy Dance". I used a great Lost-coast Designs stamp of a ballet dancer: 

Tja, en toen een boekje met slakken....daar had ik eigenlijk geen stempel van. alleen hele kleintjes. Mijn dochter Noortje heeft toen een leuke slak voor me getekend, die ik heb ingekleurd en in verschillende  maten heb uitgeknipt! Toch wel leuk geworden.

And then there was this snail project.... I do not have a nice snail stamp, just little ones. So my daughter Noortje drew one for me. I coloured it and cut it out in various sizes. It kinda turned out nice!

En toen kreeg ik een stapel slippers voor mijn neus....pff, dat was even nadenken. Er moest iets strand achtigs op. En toen bedacht ik dat ik dat leuke setje had van Crafty Individuals. Met dat kleine meisje aan het strand. Daar ga ik denk ik ook weer eens kaarten mee maken.

Then I got a plie of flipflops to work with...pfff, I had to think a while about this one! I had to put something Beachy on it. And then I remembered that nice little stampset I have from Crafty Individuals, with the little girl on the beach. I think I'll make some cards too with that set .

In dit mooie boekje moesten we met silhouetten aan de slag. Ik heb me heerlijk uitgeleefd met acryl verf en gesso en glim-verfjes enz. Weer heel wat anders!

For this little book we had to use Silhouettes. I had a great time getting my fingers dirty with acrylic paint and gessa and shimmery paints and so on. Loved it!

Ik heb nog een aantal projecten gemaakt. Maar die laat ik de volgende keer weer zien.
Binnenkort kom ik er eindelijk aan toe om zelf voor iemand een project op te zetten. Ik heb zoveel leuke ideeën......

I've worked in some other projects. But I'll show you these another time. Soon I'll have the time to make my first project for someone else, I've got so many ideas......

Dylusions workshop

Hallo allemaal,

Het is zeker 4 jaar geleden dat ik een workshop heb gegeven. En eindelijk had ik weer de tijd en energie om weer te beginnen.
Het was even inkomen, maar ik heb er van genoten.

It has been at least four years since I teached a workshop.But now finaly I have the time and energy to start  again.

Een aantal dames wilden leren Artjournalen. En dan met diverse technieken.
Afgelopen dinsdag hebben we de eerste van de drie workshops gedaan: Dylusions.

I was asked to teach some ladies how to work in an Artjournal. With differend techniques.
This Tuesday We had the first of three workshops: Dylusions

Eest hebben we wat geoefend op verschillend papier. En daarna hebben we deze twee pagina's gemaakt:
First we practiced on all kinds of paper. And then we made these two pages:

Nu ben ik zelf een Artjournaler die meer "Art" dan "Journaled" (is dat wel een woord).
Ik heb zelf niet zo veel te zeggen. Dat ik lekker bezig ben geeft me al voldoening genoeg en is een prima therapie. (rustgevend) Ik heb niet de behoefte er veel bij te schrijven. Een leuke tekst of quote vind ik vaak het mooist. Maar we hebben op de pagina van het meisje toch een klein beetje tekst gezet. Het journal gedeelte moet ieder voor zich uitvogelen.

My Artjournals are more "Art" than "journal". I just haven't got much to tell. Just creating something gives me the satisfaction I need, it's very therapeutic and calming. I do not feel the need to write my feelings down. I put them in creating the piece. I do like to put in some nice words or a quote.
We did write a little on the girly page. But the journaling part is something I think everyone has to discover themselfs.

Het was een gezellig groepje en weer een leuke ervaring.
Volgende keer gaan we met Gesso aan de slag! Ik moet het alleen nog even bedenken ;)

We had a nice little group and it was a lot of fun!
Next time we'll be working wit Gesso. I just have to come up with a brilliant workshop ;)

de eerste Angel projecten van 2014/ my first Angel projects of 2014

Hallo allemaal,

Allereerst wil ik iedereen een vrolijk, blij en vooral creatief 2014 toewensen!
In de decembermaand heb ik behalve mijn kerstkaarten bijna niets gestempeld!
Dus dit jaar ben ik weer vol frisse moed begonnen!!

First of all I want to wish everyone a happy, cheerful and above all a creative 2014!
I did not do a lot of stamping in December, apart from my Christmas cards ofcourse.
So I could hardly wait to get stamping again this week!

Ik heb nu twee projecten af voor de Stampingangels:

En dan is er natuurlijk onze nieuwe ruil van de atc stempelclub met als thema WINTER:

Je ziet, ik ben het jaar weer lekker begonnen.
Meteen verder aan het volgende project...en mijn Artjournals natuurlijk!!

So as you can see, I started the year with lots of stamping-fun!
And now on to the next project...and my Artjournals ofcourse !!!

Vreemde Feestdagen-kaart / Creepy Christmas Card

Hallo allemaal,

Deze kerst heb ik voor de stempelgroep waar ik aan mee doe, de Stamping Angels, speciale kerstkaarten gemaakt.
Het zijn niet echt conventionele kertskaarten.....
Maar toen ik de stempel van dat jochie, helemaal in de knoop met kerstlichtjes zag....was ik meteen verkocht! Geweldige stempel! De frustratie druipt eraf! (Wie doet er met plezier kerstlichtjes in de boom?)
Maar ja, niet echt vrolijk voor een kerstkaart.
Dus ik besloot er nog een kerstboom bij te zetten....maar ach...die is ook al niet al te fleurig!

Hi everyone,

This Christmas I made special Christmascards for the stampingroup I'm participating in, the Stamping Angels. 
Well, they're not really conventional.... 
But when I saw that stamp with the little boy all tangled up in christmas lights, I was immediately sold! Such an amazing stamp! You can really feel his frustration (Something we're probably all familiar with, concerning Christmas lights...) It's not really a happy x-mas stamp though... So I decided to add a Christmas tree! ... but... well.... it's not that cheerful either!  

Toch wist ik dat de echte stempelaars zo'n soort kaart best wel kan waarderen, dus ik heb hem gewoon gemaakt! En hij is geweldig geworden! (sprak zij bescheiden).
De tekst erin vond ik wel grappig: "it's the season to be jolly...!" (aaah, 't arme joch!)

I knew that a true stamping artist would appreciate such a card, however, so I made it anyway! And it turned out amazing (she said with great modesty). I also really loved the text that my brilliant daughter thought up (who is also making this translation today) "it's the season to be jolly...!" (awww, the poor kid!) 

Zo is de kaart gemaakt:
eerst heb ik de twee Stampotique stempels op tissue papier gestempeld, en daarna met potlood ingekleurd.
Toen dat eindelijk allemaal af was....heb ik alles tot propjes verfrommeld!!
Daarna heb ik de propjes voorzichtig weer glad gestreken. Het papier blijft dan grotendeels toch gekreukeld.

This is how I made the card:
First I stamped the two Stampotique stamps on tissue paper, then I coloured them in with pencils. When all that hard work was done .... I crumpled it all up!
Of course, I carefully straightened them out again. But the paper keeps the crumpled appearance.

Toen heb ik de op maat gesneden witte papiertjes ingesmeerd met lijm en het tissue papier er voorzichtig op gelegd. En dan heel voorzichtig aangeduwd en op maat afgeknipt.

After that  I took the cut-to-size white cardstock and carefully glued them to the tissue paper. I carefully pressed them and when it dried, cut it to size.

Omdat het zo'n vreemd, depresief jochie is, vond ik dat de randjes toch wel zwart gesponst moesten worden...en ook de achtergrond kreeg wat veegjes.

Because it's such a strange depressed little kid, I felt I had to use a sponge and blacken the edges of the card ... even the background got some black smudges. 
 

Daarna matten op vrolijk rood papier!

After that I, naturally, added a cheerful red background card! 

Een leuke kerst tag van Stampin'up met goud geëmbossed en met de bijpassende pons uitgeponst.
Deze heb ik met een kleine Tim Holz paperclip vastgezet op de kaart.

I embossed a cute Stampin'up Christmas tag with gold embossing powder and then punched it out with the matching punch. Then I used a small Tim Holz paperclip to attach it to the card.
 

Tja, en bij het zien van zo'n grappig, zielig tafereeltje kwam det kerstliedje in me op....en dat past er wel bij, toch?

When gazing upon such a sad, funny little scene, this Christmas song came to mind (after my daughter told me it would fit) ... and it does fit, right? 

En zo had ik er 15 gemaakt!! (voor de Stamping Angels groep en een paar kennissen waarvan ik dacht dat ze de humor er wel van konden inzien!)

And that's how I made 15!! (For the Stamping Angels and a few acquaintances of whom I knew they would be able to appreciate the humour!)

Voor de rest van de familie en kennissen heb ik een totaal ander kaartje gemaakt.
Toen ik deze Stampin'up kerststempels met pons zag, was ik meteen verliefd. Ze gaven me een jaren vijftig gevoel...en daar hou ik erg van! Dus vandaar ook de pastel kleurtjes en de achtergrond.

For the rest of the family and friends I made a completely different card. When I saw this Stampin'up Christmas-stamp with matching punch, it was love at first sight. They gave off this 50s vibe ... which I love! That is why I used the pastel colours and the 50s background. 

Dan wil ik bij deze iedereen hele fijne dagen toewensen! En een vrolijk en creatief 2014!!

Twee stamping Angels projecten af! / finished two Stamping Angels projects

Hallo allemaal,

Eindelijk ben ik er aan toe gekomen om een start te maken met de Stamping Angels projecten.
Op de Angels dag had ik er 14 gekregen!
Afgelopen week heb ik er twee afgemaakt.....dus nog 12 te gaan !
In de Stamping Angel groep maken we kleine "boekjes" voor elkaar. In zo'n boekje maken een aantal mensen een pagina. Als het boekje vol is, krijgt degene voor wie het project is opgezet hem toegestuurd en mag het dan houden.

I finally got around to making  the first two Stamping Angels projects.
I got 14 of them to work in at the Angels-day a few weeks ago!
Last week I finished two of them......only 12 to go!
As members of the Stamping Angels group we make little "books" for eachother.
A few members get to stamp one page in it. And when the little book is finished, it is send to the person it was set up for.

Het was zo leuk om te maken. Ik heb één van de kerst setjes van Crafty Secrets gebruikt. Zo lief!
It was so much fun to make! I used one of the christmas sets from Crafty Secrets. So sweet!


Voor het tweede project moest ik een atc van een vrolijk meisje stempelen. Ik heb hiervoor een stempel gebruikt die mijn vriendin van haar dochter had laten maken. En dat is een vrolijke meid...dus heel toepasselijk vond ik!

For the seccond project I had to make an ATC of a happy (cheerful) girl. I used a stamp that my friend had made of a picture of her daughter. And she's a cheerful girl....so the stamp was perfect for this!

Nu ben ik al weer met het derde project bezig! maar ja, er zijn ook nog zo'n 50 kerstkaarten te maken.
Nee...vervelen doe ik me echt niet!

Now I'm already working on the next project! But I also have to make about 50 christmas cards in the next two weeks! So no.....I'm never bored!
