Eindelijk weer een blogpost /Finaly another blogpost

Hallo allemaal,

Hi everyone,
It has been about 9 months since I posted something on my blog. Because of health reasonss I just didn't get around to it.
At the end of last year I was ready to start working on this blog again. But unfortynately I got my arm stuck between the rear door of a car.  And it just won't heal as fast as I want it to. So I haven't been able to do any stamping. (Can you imagine not stamping for three months ? 0-o  )

But eventhough I'm not able to stamp much, I still can show you lots of projects I made before the "rear door"-incident. :)

te beginnen met deze Dylusions pagina:
Starting with this Dylusions spread:

I started with some dylusions sprays for the background
Then I usedsome masks and simple stamps stamps.
And ofcourse lots of Dyan Reavely's stamps!

The flowers were drawn with a white sharpie. The leafs are stamped with black ink and then traced with a white sharpie.

I'm so happy to start sharing my creations with you again on this blog. I've got loads to show you. And I hope to be stamping new projects soon.

Stempel groetjes, Karin

Gesso workshop / Gesso class

Last week I taught the seccond  class of three. This one was about Gesso. First we taped maskingtape to the paper and then Gessoed the whole paper. The spots where the tape had been reacted totally different to the inks we used.

On this page we used Distress Stains. And we used templates with the Gesso. We also made a transfer of the girl with Gesso.

Whilest the page dried, we sprayed the other page with Dylusions.

Then we stamped borders and flowers and so on. In the bottem corner we did a neat little trick with bubbling Gesso...Fun!! After that, we used Gesso to stamp circkles and so on.
It was fun teaching this class, and everyone made great Art Journal pages!

Dylusions met Dyan/ Dylusions with Dyan

Hallo allemaal,

Here is the second part about the mini retreat!
At 9 o'clock, after a reasonably good night rest and a deliciously yummy breakfast, we were all anxiously waiting for Dyan Reaveley to arrive and teach us something!
And boy that took some people by surprise! ^-^

Dyan gave us all a brand new Artjournal. Wow, here it was still so new and shiny:

Aan het eind van de dag zag hij er zo uit:
When we were through with it, it looked like this:

First, we had to rip out a few pages from the journal .... GASP!.... you could feel a slight panic going through the room. But this was what I had come for! To let go, to not be afraid, and just DO IT!
But wait! There's more! After brutaly maiming our artjournal we had to spray the cover with Dylusions!! And spray on a few pages .... and even in my neighbour's book! Help!! I love it!

Then when everyone was recovering from all this, Dyan just said: "So, now your book is completely ruined.... now it doesn't matter anymore what you do with it! You don't have to be careful with it!"

We worked with the Dylusion spray for the rest of the morning:

It was quite exhausting because Dyan doesn't do breaks ^-^ But then again, that meant we got a lot done.

 zoals deze pagina-grote label:
Like this page-sized label:

It didn't take long for our hands to be completely covered with ink:

And then it was time for a scrumptious  lunch (with soup and a traditional bread-and-kroket).
After the break, we mostly worked with Dyan's couture stamps. She taught us how to draw the fabric patterns, so that it looked like real fabric. The afternoon was slightly less crazy!

Dyan spent nearly the entire afternoon standing on top of her chair, so the ladies in the back of the room could  see her drawings perfectly as well.

It was an exhausting but amazing day! I got exactly what I came for: no longer will I fear the blank page! I am now more confident to just go crazy and explore new techniques in my journal.  Sometimes it doesn't work out the way you want, well "tough luck"!  (as Dyan says).  Just keep going, and it will turn out fine! And indeed! Here are a few more pages we created:

(this page didn't go as I wanted in every way possible. I finished it at home... and it turned out great!)

Ofcourse, I had to ask Dyan for an autograph! And we talked in great length about her amazing vintage clothes!

Wat een geweldig weekend was dit! Bedankt Kate en Dyan! Ik heb genoten!!
What an amazing weekend! Thank you Kate and Dyan! I had a blast!

lekker bezig/having fun

Hallo allemaal,

I am realy enjoying myself with the purchases I made last week at the Artspecially Event. Just trying out everything! I bought a smaller (photo)album from Paperchase (sold at the Bijenkorf) and it's the ideal size for me to work in!

Here are some of the pages I made this week:

On this page I used Dylusion sprays for the background. The mermaid is from Stampotique and the little leafs are from Kico stamps (plate 51). I love these underwater scenes!!

I made this page with Gelatos from Faber Castel. I'm so happy I bought them! First I put gesso on the page, so the gelatos would work better. When the background was finished, I brushed gesso over a Dylusion template. To get a nice reliëf. The girl is from the Kico plate 51. The wings are actually plantleaves from the same plate. De quote is from Dylusions.

For this background I used the Gelatos again. The creapy boys are from Stampotique.(yes I know, I bought way to many Stampotique stamps...but they are so weird and funny!) And again I used a text from Dyan Reaveley (Dylusions). The rest of the page I drew myself. The moon was "doodled-in"with a white Sharpie! (is that even a real word?)

Currently I'm working on this page.... The stamp is from Lost Coast Design. I thought the text went well with the stamp. It's the first time I tried to write something this way. And it was not that easy!
As soon as I finish the page, I'll put it on the blog. But for now I have no idea yet how to finish it....we'll see.

Kinderboekje / childrens book

Hallo allemaal,

This is an old childrensbook. You can by the at thriftshops or at carboot sales. They are realy cheap and wonderfull to work in.

The pages are absorbend so you have to Gesso them first.
The next spread I made with acrylic paint and Dylusion spray's. Then I used a Dylusion tamplate and som Gesso to get the reliëf squares. I used black gesso on the left page and white gesso on the right page.
The stamps are from Craft Secrets.

I sometimes stick the pages together to make them thicker, sturdier.
When the book is finnished I might do something with the covers....but maybe I just leave them the way they are. Don't know yet, it might be funny.

On the next spread I also used Gesso firts. Then I sprayed them with Dylusion sprays. I put a flower templeate (Dylusion also) in the corners and sponged some distresspaint, so I got a nice flower border. The stamps are by Dylusions, except for the circkles. They are by Tim Holz.

I've got a new white gelpen...finaly one that realy works! The Uni-ball Signo gelpen. ( I know stampin'up sells them). So I've been having fun with that.

I used a little tube with goldpaint to create some nice accents.

En nu op naar de volgende pagina.......
On to the next page......

Dream

Hallo allemaal,

I am totaly addicted to Dylusions sprays!! I love working with them!

I stuck a piece of maskingtape onto a card. What works best for me is to stick the tape on your trouwers a few times first , so it looses a bit of it's stickyness.
I sprayed the card with Lemon Zest, bubblegum pink, squeezed orange and fresh lime.

I carefully removed a bit of the tape, so I could stamp the image of the sleeping girl ( Crafty Secrets) exactly on top of the white border.

I stuck the tape back onto the card again and stamped the other images. (flowers: unknown, Birds and butterflies are from Heroarts)
Remove the tape again and you have a nice white border.

I stamped the word Dream on the border with alphabet letters. Then I glued a piece of Organza onto the border and put a little flower with a brad on the left side. The images were colored in with coloring pencils. I then glued it all on a white card.

Lief he?
Isn't it cute?

Groetjes, Karin
